Implantology

Dental implants have become the most successful prosthetic treatment in the world. They improve remarkably the quality life of the patients at a price comparable to traditional prosthetic works.

The dental implant is an artificial tooth root, a titanium "screw" root which replaces the missing natural tooth. The insertion in the maxillar or mandibular bone is made under local anesthesia through a completely painless surgery. After an osseointegration period of four months in the case of the mandible and of six months in the case of maxilla the work, whether crown, bridge or denture can be completed. During the osseointegration we can provide temporary dental works for the patients.

If you need to replace one or more teeth, the implant is a much better alternative than the traditional dental bridges, because it needs no grinding of the teeth neighboring the missing teeth, making it more aesthetic and more physiological.
Dental implants are the most effective fixation of total prosthesis. Prosthesis will be attached to the implants by means of dental hooks, providing a much better stability, a much better retentivity and an increased long term comfort.

The percentage of successfully implemented dental implants is very high: of 97% in the case of the mandible and of 90% in the case of the maxilla. The difference comes from the difference of structure of the bones. In the case of the mandible the density of bone is higher.
